The Highlanders are the latest team to reveal their 2020 home jersey, which the Otago-based team will wear for the forthcoming Super Rugby season.
As is often the case, the Highlanders are throwing back to their Scottish heritage for the new home jersey, but with a bit of an innovative twist.
The jerseys have a large tartan-inspired effect that might not look very tartan-y on its own, but when combined with the pattern on other jerseys on the team it creates a large-scale tartan effect.
The idea is that, it creates a “visual representation of the strong bond that is forged between the players and supporters of the Highlanders”.
