The Gallagher Chiefs have revealed their brand new Super Rugby 2020 home shirt, and once again the design in hugely intricate and detailed, and is inspired by the region’s Maori heritage.
The design has a prominent and striking pattern across the front, that represents the Maori Gods inspiring the players as they set out to battle the opposition. The jersey seeks to remind all its players that with the right attitude and spirit they will succeed as Tūmatauenga the Māori god of war did in the battle for Pōhutukawa.
The design features striking accents of red and gold that pick out various details of the incredibly intricate design, which was once again created in consultation with the NZRU’s Maori cultural advisor Luke Crawford.
