Racing 92 have revealed the brand new home, away and third jerseys that the Parisian club will wear for their 2018/19 Top 14 and Heineken Champions Cup fixtures, once again manufactured by new France national team supplier Le Coq Sportif.
The jerseys are very similar to the trio that the club wore last season, albeit with the presence of new coloured slashes down the sides – red and blue on the home shirt, and light blue on the away and third.
The most notable thing about these jerseys, however, is the placement of the club crest. Top 14 clubs have often struggled to cram the large number of shirt sponsors they use onto their jerseys in a visually pleasing way, but for some bizarre reason, LCS’s solution for 2018 is to stick the club badge on the bottom right hand corner of the design.
It’s a strange one for sure, and one that’s sure to alienate traditionalists and jersey lovers alike. Keep an eye on Rugby Shirt Watch for our full review of the Racing 92 2018/19 range soon.
Well, in all seriousness, I’ve got to say it’s f### ugly.
I love French rugby, the plenty of the club badge demonstrates what is wrong with the top 14. Sponsors and money over history, it’s almost like they are try to hide the crest. Worst shirt of the season easily, can’t remember a shirt that has made me this angry!
