Saracens have revealed their new shirt sponsor for the abbreviated 2021 Championship season and for the upcoming Trailfinders Challenge Cup.

Saracens lost their long-time sponsor Allianz in the wake of their salary cap scandal and relegation, and had initially announced that the club’s charitable foundation would take pride of place on the front of the shirt for this season.

But obviously a lot has happened in the last few months and rugby clubs can’t really be in the position to turn down cash, and so City Index has replaced the Saracens Foundation, while parent company StoneX takes on naming rights of the Copthall Stadium.

“We are really excited to enter this new, long-term partnership with StoneX, one of the world’s leading financial groups,” said Lucy Wray, Saracens CEO.

“We share a commitment to excellence and innovation and we are looking forward to the start of a memorable journey with them. This is a major moment for the Saracens family. The partnership heralds a fresh start for the club after a hugely challenging year and having met some of the people at StoneX and City Index, I can safely say that they share our ambition and values.”

  1. To be a pendant, the foundation has only been on the supporter shirt, the players shirt has always been empty this year…
