UPDATE: THE LIONS 2021 JERSEY HAS BEEN LAUNCHED! READ ALL ABOUT IT HERE
Original story continues below:
The British & Irish Lions 2021 tour to South Africa is rapidly approaching, and one of the most exciting milestones in the build-up to the tour is the revealing of the official match jersey, and now not only do we have a confirmed date, but a tease of the new British & Irish Lions 2020 shirt itself.
The new jersey will launch in one week, on 28 October 2020, and it seems like the jersey itself will be a bit less ‘classic’ than the 2017 design, with a low-profile (almost nonexistent) white collar, and some kind of tonal pattern to the shoulder. It will also feature new sponsor Vodafone, of course.
The different take on 2017 shouldn’t be surprising – after all the new Lions off-field stash that was revealed a few weeks ago was certainly not as traditional as the gear from 2017.
The Lions Official Store also reveals the recommended pricing for the new shirts, which seems to be £75 for the standard adult ‘Pro’ jersey, £55 for the junior version and £70 for the classic long-sleeve jersey. There’s no news on whether we’ll get a full ‘test’ jersey, but we’d expect so.
That’s certainly not cheap, but the Lions is a once-in-four years occasion so you can certainly see it as an investment, and all the new kits are available for preorder now.
