Bristol Bears will contest their first European final against Toulon this weekend, and they’ll be doing so wearing a brand new jersey from new kit supplier Umbro, and it pays tribute to an iconic landmark of the city.
The shirt pays tribute to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, the architectural marvel designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and constructed in 1864.

It’s certainly a bit different from the bear-heavy vibe of the Umbro home and away kits, but it’s not the first time Bristol have gone down the ‘landmark on a jersey’ route – back in 2013 the club stuck the Memorial Gates of the old Memorial Ground on the 125th anniversary design.
That shirt was so awful that fan outcry caused it to get redesigned instantly, and this is obviously dramatically more successful, and shows how far the club has come in such a short time.
