Bristol Bears’ widely anticipated new Umbro home shirt has finally been revealed, and it’s no surprise that the Westcountry club’s new threads are aiming to stand out from the crowd.
Pairing blue and red in a striking impressionistic bear’s head pattern that covers the main body of the jersey is certainly not for traditionalists but then that’s rather the point.
Bristol have been all about doing things a little differently since they rebranded as the Bears, and the stunning new training gear they revealed last month demonstrated that Umbro was likely to take this to another level.
It’s a shame perhaps that the kit hasn’t fulfilled the 90s throwback promise of that training gear, but one thing’s for sure – Bristol won’t look like anyone else next season.
