Munster have revealed their brand new European jersey, which the province will wear for the next two seasons in Heineken Champions Cup competition, and a shirt that aims to demonstrate that the Munster fanbase extends far beyond the province.

The new jersey claims to be about “honouring the passion and pride of fans from every corner of the world” and as such features a subtle global map pattern across the entirety of the jersey’s ‘collegiate burgundy’ (honestly what the f…) body.

The world map features what Munster are describing as a ‘heatmap’ of dots (in ‘real coral’ colour name fans) that represent the global Red Army – the heavier and more pronounced the dots, the more Munster fans you’ll find there, apparently.

There’s also the inclusion of the club’s ‘Stand Up And Fight’ motto across the back of the collar, and for the first time ever, Munster have taken a leaf out of the book of rivals Leinster and have placed two stars above the club badge to represent the two Heineken Cup titles the province has won.

Munster have no involvement in this season’s delayed 2019/20 Champions Cup knock out stages, having failed to get our of their pool this year, but will wear the jerseys for the first time whenever the hell the 2020/21 Champions Cup kicks off.

Munster fans, what do you think of the new 2020/21 European jersey? Let us know in the comments below.
