The 2019/20 season might not even have restarted yet, but Leicester Tigers have become the first Premiership club to reveal their brand new 2020/21 jerseys, made by new kit supplier Samurai Sports.

The home jersey is a modern twist on the classic tigers hoops, with diagonal white and red double hoops that run up the body of the design (the angled Samurai logo is a nice touch of symmetry here).

The away jersey, on the other hand is QUITE the departure for Leicester – at least in some ways. The body and sleeves of the jersey feature the return of tiger print last seen in 2018/19, while the sleeve pattern is rendered in a rainbow pattern that the club says is, “Designed to reflect the colours and background of our vibrant and diverse city and celebrate how inclusive rugby is for all”.

It’s a laudable gesture and one that should be applauded, but there’s certainly going to be some questions asked in Parma as to where exactly they thought up this incredible inventive and original design idea, ahem.

Both Tigers kits will be officially launched later today – the club has stated that they’re 2020/21 kits, so it’s not known as yet whether they’ll be worn when the 2019/20 season resumes next month.
