Harlequins debuted their brand new Big Game 12 jersey when they wore it for their match against Ulster in the Heineken Champions Cup.
The Big Game jersey is an annual tradition for Quins – donning what is normally a one-off design for their late-December trip over the road to Twickenham stadium.
This year’s black and grey tonal quartered design was revealed last month, and instead of keeping the design for one game this season, they also announced at the time that it would also serve as their European away shirt this year.

While all reference to that has been removed from the Quins site, sure enough the Big Game 12 jersey got a debut in Belfast. There’s no reason for this on the surface really – Quins’ regular jersey would provide sufficient colour clash with the all-white Ulster strip after all.
Still, anything that means we see less of the grotesque away design has to be a good thing, right?
Either way, Quins will wear the jersey again for the match against Leicester at Twickenham on 28 December.
