The Scarlets have revealed their brand new 2019/20 jerseys that the Welsh region will wear for their forthcoming Pro 14 and Challenge Cup campaigns.
The home shirt mixes various shades of red with a darker shade on the sleeves and an interesting pinstriped white side-vent motif and a tonal diamond pattern on the front, with a prominent round-necked collar.
The away shirt is the latest edition of the three-year ‘Three years, three counties’ initiative, and this time around is paying tribute to Pembrokeshire with an… er… distinctive mix of yellow, grey, blue and red.
The politest thing we can probably say is that it makes us appreciate last year’s Ceredigion-inspired design that little bit more.
As with last year, another talking point will be the number of sponsors on both jerseys, which if you’re planning on counting features Macron, main sponsor Juno Moneta and, deep breath, Enzo’s Estates Ltd, Dyfed Steel, BT Sport, Castell Howell, Intersport UK, Pencnwc Holiday Park, Ronnie S Evans, Coleg Sir Gar, LBS, Lloyd & Gravell, Gravells, CK Foodstores, Swansea University, John Francis, Viola, Owens Group UK, Princes Gate and TAD Builders.
The new Scarlets jerseys were revealed appropriately at the Pembrokeshire County Show this afternoon. Keep an eye on Rugby Shirt Watch for all the latest Pro 14 jersey news.
