Munster Rugby have announced a multi-year extension to their kit deal with longstanding partner Adidas, as well as their exclusive retail partner, Life Style Sports.
The new five-year extension, which will commence once the existing deal expires in 2021, will see Munster continue to wear the three stripes until 2026, bringing up very nearly 20 years of partnership – Adidas having taken over from Canterbury back in 2007.
There had been some questions as to whether Adidas’s high-profile signing of arch-rivals Leinster last season might jeopardise the partnership with Munster, but clearly Adidas is keen to invest heavily in Irish rugby.
Gavin Thomson, SVP & GM North Europe at Adidas, said: “At adidas we are obsessed with helping athletes improve their game, life and world.
“By extending our long-standing partnership with Munster Rugby to 2026 we are able to not only work alongside one of the best teams in sport but also to continue to excite and engage their fans with innovation at the heart of what we do together on and off pitch. We wish the team every success for the upcoming season.”
As part of the deal, Life Style Sports will also continue on as Munster’s exclusive retail partner until 2026.
