The FFR has revealed the brand new France home shirt that Les Bleus will wear at Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan, and also a brand new crest that will debut in the tournament.

The shirt is as clean and classic as could be with a classic blue jersey accented with a simple white stub collar and a large contrasting textured blue section that runs across the shoulders and chest.

The new crest, however, is a significant departure – ditching the traditional golden cockerel in favour of a stylised red one, and ditching any word mark on the jersey entirely.

The old logo had been used with and without a shield for decades, but this new one is actually a throw back to the cockerel used on some of the earliest France rugby jerseys.
