Toulouse have revealed that they will mark the tragedy of the Notre Dame fire in Paris by wearing a special decal on their jerseys for this weekend’s Champions Cup semi-final against Leinster.
The graphic, which will will be placed in the centre of the chest is a sketch-style representation of the iconic cathedral, which was severely damaged by fire earlier this week.
“What happened at the beginning of the week at Notre Dame does not only affect the French people: every inhabitant of the planet is bruised by the tragedy,” said Toulouse president Didier Lacroix. “With a match on Sunday of both national and European importance, it seemed natural that Stade Toulousain also participate in the solidarity movement born of this disaster and the beginnings of the future reconstruction.”
Following the match on Sunday, the jerseys will be auctioned off, with proceeds donated to help the reconstruction efforts.
