The USA Rugby Men’s 7s team has revealed another set of unbranded kits for the Rugby World Cup 7s, continuing their mysterious dispute with USA Rugby kit supplier, Adidas.
The USA Men’s 7s team first wore unbranded kit at the Las Vegas 7s in March, amid claims that the gear Adidas was providing wasn’t as ‘high performance’ as they’d been promised.
They’ve worn unbranded Samurai-made gear ever since, and for the Rugby World Cup 7s in San Francisco this weekend debuted a new pair of jerseys.
The home shirt is white with subtle stripes on the front and red and blue stars on the sleeves and shoulders, while the change design is blue with tonal stripes and stars across the front.
It’s worth noting once again that the USA Women’s 7s have been wearing Adidas all season and continued to do so at the RWC7s this weekend, and the USA Eagles 15s team have also been wearing Adidas with no complaints.
It all means that the murky dispute between Adidas and the USA Men’s 7s rumbles on – it remains to be seen if they’ll have sorted it out before the World Rugby Sevens Series resumes next season.
Where can one buy these jerseys. They are sick!
