Ahead of the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 in San Francisco, the FFR have revealed the jersey that the France men’s and women’s sevens teams will wear throughout the tournament.
The new jersey is the second design to come from Le Coq Sportif since the signed up the FFR at the start of this season, and it’s certainly more modern than the 15s jersey.
Like the new France 15s home shirt, the new France Sevens jersey features a tricolore motif on one sleeve, albeit in more restrained style, while the body of the shirt continues the red white and blue theme by using the colours to create a giant number 7 on the front.
Subtle it most certainly isn’t, but such is the sevens – there’s also a change shirt that swaps the blue for white with the same design.
France will wear this RWC7s version of the jersey for the duration of the tournament at AT&T Park, and then continue to use the design, minus the RWC patch, for the rest of the World Rugby Sevens season.
I wonder why the world cup 7s logo needs the white box on this jersey, whereas the USA and Pumas do not. Any ideas?
