The New South Wales Waratahs have revealed a brand new Heritage jersey that the team will wear for their match against the Queensland Reds at the SCG this weekend.
The new shirt is a throwback to the good old days of rugby union in New South Wales before Super Rugby, with the classic sky blue jersey sporting an old-school collar complete with authentically retro Canterbury Loop collar placket.
In addition, the shirt also sports an old-fashioned New South Wales Rugby Union crest on the left breast, plus all the usual sponsors that we’d see on the standard design.
The Heritage Round jersey will be worn for the match against Queensland on 14 April, which will be held at Sydney’s historic SCG ground – the Reds will also be wearing their old-school darker red Heritage jersey for the game, so it should be a great looking game on the shirt front.
Sadly, these gorgeous shirts will not be available to purchase, but each of the Waratahs players will donate their game-worn heritage jerseys to the school or club that had the most influence on their rugby career.
