The Plus500 Brumbies have revealed the brand new home and away jerseys that the Canberra-based team will be wearing throughout the 2018 Super Rugby season. The new jerseys, which are once again produced by Classic Sportswear, break with the trend of the last few years in twisting the classic Brumbies jersey design, and instead returns to the look that the team wore when they were formed in 1996.
Indeed, the new designs are pretty much identical to the shirts that the club wore back in the mid-1990s, including the replacement of gold trim with the more classic and traditional burnt orange.
“When looking at the design of the new jersey for the 2018 Super Rugby season we were conscious of including the original orange that appeared on our classic kits of the mid-nineties,” Brumbies CEO Michael Thomson said. “The colours that are on the new home and away jerseys closely match that of those seen on our kits of the past and we are delighted with the new design and believe they will prove to be very popular amongst our fanbase.”
The Brumbies will wear their new jerseys for the first time when the new Super Rugby season kicks off in February 2018.
