The Vodacom Bulls became the first Super Rugby team to lift the lid on their 2018 home jersey when they launched a special design commemorating 80 years of the Blue Bulls Rugby Union.
The new jersey, which is once again created by long-time supplier Puma South Africa is an interesting design, which comprises a classic sky blue front and a white back, split down the middle of the shirt with some fade piping.
The only other ornamentation on the design is a specially redesigned club crest to mark the 80th anniversary, which will be worn by all teams representing the Blue Bulls Rugby Union in 2018 – from Super Rugby to Currie Cup all the way down to the U19s.
The most striking feature of the design, however, is a unique ‘20180’ (that’s 2018/80 if you were struggling) motif that runs across the chest of the shirts.
Speaking at the launch of the new shirt, CEO of the Blue Bulls Company, Barend van Graan added, “Puma have once again outdone themselves in producing an awe-inspiring kit for the new season. In 2018 we celebrate our 80th anniversary, and we will be looking to pay tribute to our proud heritage. We firmly believe Puma has truly captured the essence, and are looking forward to running out in this timeless classic.”
