Saracens have revealed a striking new blue third, or as they’re terming it, a Special Edition jersey, that the reigning European Champions will wear for a one-off game in the 2017/18 Aviva Premiership season.
Saracens will travel to the London Stadium, formerly the Olympic Stadium, at Queen Elizabeth Park, where they’ll welcome Harlequins for the Derby Day fixture in March 2018, and to mark the occasion the club will wear this special jersey.
The new shirt isn’t a third shirt, or even a charity shirt as we’re used to – instead the shirt has been created in partnership with the club’s main sponsor, Allianz, borrowing the insurance giant’s primary colour as the base.
In addition there’s a pinstripe pattern across the front of the design, which is a nod to the pinstriped business suits traditionally worn by the traders and bankers of the City Of London.
Sarries will wear their Special Edition shirt against Quins for their Premiership fixture against Quins on 24 March 2018, keep an eye on Rugby Shirt Watch for our full review soon.
