2013 Rugby League World Cup finalists New Zealand have revealed a brand new jersey that the Kiwis will wear as they seek to go one better in this year’s tournament.The Kiwis signed up with Macron last year, and this is the most important and different jersey that the Italian company has produced yet, and it’s a pleasant twist on the classic formula.
So we have the classic black shirt with white chevron of course, but on closer inspection, you’ll notice that the sleeves and back of the shirt that depicts traditional New Zealand cultural patterns.
The shirt was designed with the consultation with team cultural advisor Ora Kihi, who used the players’ own tattoos for inspiration for the patterns used.
The Kiwis will wear their new shirt for their opening match of the Rugby League World cup against Samoa in Auckland on 28 October.
