The Ospreys have revealed their brand new 2017/18 away jersey, the first one that the region has worn from new kit supplier Canterbury of New Zealand, who are on board for the next three seasons.

The new shirt is the traditional Ospreys away colour of white, but with an interesting black and grey ‘bedrock’ hoop pattern dominating the bottom two thirds of the front of the design.

In addition, the shirt also features all of Canterbury’s latest jersey advances, including the double-layer loop collar seen on England and Ireland test jerseys, as well as integration of Canterbury’s Thermoreg, VapoDri and Vaposhield technology into the fabric of the design, which we saw on the recent British & Irish Lions jersey.

What’s more we also get a longer length sleeve constructed with hi-stretch modular fabrication to provide a streamlined finish to the arms, and evolved body fabrication to provide increased durability and strength while jersey weight is decreased by 20 grams per square metre, making this the lightest Canterbury jersey ever.

The Ospreys will wear their away jersey for the first time in their preseason game against Leicester Tigers at Brewery Field, keep an eye on Rugby Shirt Watch for our full review of the new jersey very soon.
