Ahead of the 2017/18 Guinness Pro14 season, Leinster Rugby have revealed a brand new home shirt that they’ll be wearing for the current campaign.
The new jersey, which is being made by long-time kit supplier Canterbury of New Zealand, sees a return to the classic Leinster blue, but with a modern twist.
The new home shirt features a striking tonal checkerboard motif on the front and back, with each of the squares featuring irregular patterns that are another example of Canterbury’s ‘evade’ technology – which is designed to disguise a player’s movements to opposition tacklers.
In addition, the inside of the shirt carries the insignia of clubs and schools from the province, emphasising Leinster’s ‘from the ground up’ motto. Like the new England shirt, each of these jerseys will also feature a unique numbered plaque.
