Northampton Saints have revealed that for the first time in 17 years, their main jersey sponsor will change for the 2017/18 season.
Since 2001, the Saints have borne the logo of the Travis Perkins Group – reputedly the longest unbroken agreement between an elite team and a main jersey sponsor in all of sport – but things are changing next season.
While the relationship between Northampton and the builder’s merchants is continuing, the firm has opted to use the shirt’s prime real estate to promote one of the other businesses in the company’s portfolio, ToolStation.
The above image not only shows off the new sponsor, it also seems to indicate that Saints will slightly tweak their Macron home shirt for the second season of their deal with the Italian supplier – more on that as we get it.
That is NOT a face of a happy player. LOL. Jersey seems a bit 70s and low end. Not really a fan of the “vest” look the black in the upper chest creates. The “low end” sadly comes from the Tool Station logo itself. Just makes for a very busy jersey. The TP mark always looked nice because it seemed part of the identity rather than an add on, which a sponsor really is I guess. Will have to see it on the pitch to pass final judgement.
