The Scarlets have revealed the kits that the Llanelli-based Pro12 side will wear for the 2017/18 season. The playoff-bound Scarlets took the unusual step of launching the kits at Parc Y Scarlets this afternoon, ahead of their final regular game of the season against local rivals Ospreys.
The jerseys are made by new kit supplier Macron, who also supply Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby in the Pro12, and Northampton Saints in the Aviva Premiership. The Scarlets announced a deal with Macron back in March, and the Italian firm will produce the Llanelli-based region’s kits for the next five seasons.
The home kit is a traditional red, with ‘Korean style’ collar and tone-on-tone stripes on the bottom, while the ‘anthracite’ away jersey uses tonal grey and black hoops on the front. In addition, both jerseys feature side panels with the names of all the clubs in the Scarlets region on the side panels.
The new kits will be worn from the start of the 2017/18 season, and replica jerseys will be available to buy in due course – keep an eye on Rugby Shirt Watch for a full review of the new jerseys soon.
The home design is a huge improvement on the Kooga designs, which looked really cheap. I did quite like the blue Kooga one though!
