The Queensland Reds wore a surprise retro jersey for their Super Rugby derby against the New South Wales Waratahs at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.
The BLK-made jersey, which was not revealed beforehand, celebrated the latest chapter in the oldest rivalry in top flight Australian rugby union with a throwback design that recalls the early days of the interstate rivalry.
The jersey opted for a more muted, old-school maroon primary colour on the standard BLK template, with a white collar and navy blue shorts.
It’s not known if the Reds plan to release replica versions of this jersey, or if they plan to wear it again this season.
