Ahead of welcoming the British & Irish Lions to New Zealand this June, the All Blacks have revealed a new training jersey that they’ll wear for the three-test series against the famous touring side.
The new shirt continues the theme that Adidas kicked off with the tour jerseys that have been produced for the five New Zealand Super Rugby teams to wear against the Lions -the notion of the teams defending the territories against the tourists.
So like the tour jerseys, we have the same distressed map design across a striking neon orange and black shirt, but here the map reflects the way that the All Blacks are the representation of a united New Zealand.
So while the tour jerseys had a map that reflected which of the 26 provincial unions contribute to the respective Super Rugby team, this training shirt brings all of those maps forever, highlighting all 26 unions on the same battle-worn map.
The All Blacks will wear this training jersey as they prepare to take on the Lions in the three-test series in June, and watch this space for further Lions-related gear from Adidas over the next few months.
